Why a Protein Blend Rather Than Pure Isolate?
Whey protein concentrate, isolate and calcium caseinate digest at different speeds. Isolate is the fastest — it hits the bloodstream quickly, which is what you want straight after training. Concentrate is a little slower and retains more of the naturally occurring immunoglobulins and growth factors that processing strips out of isolate. Calcium caseinate is slowest of all, releasing amino acids over several hours.
Blending all three means one shake covers both windows: the immediate post-workout spike and the sustained feed afterwards. A pure isolate does the first well and the second not at all.
